This weekend Matt and I spent the weekend together but instead of me heading to Canada or Matt coming to Denver we met up in San Francisco for my good friend Katy's wedding. Her wedding was in San Jose but since San Fran is about an hour away and Matt had never seen it before we decided to do a little sight seeing. It was pretty cool because it was Fleet Week which meant there were some naval boats docked at the Port and a ton of activities going on. We caught the tail end of the Blue Angels air show as we were driving into Fishermen's Wharf which was really cool. There was a live band on Pier 39 and other little attractions around the area. Here's a few pics from some of our stops.
If you've never had Boudin Sourdough bread you are missing out. It is delicious! I thought these bread animals were pretty cute. We got a turtle and while I felt a little bad ripping his little head off but he tasted so good I put aside my feelings
We walked down to Ghiradelli Square. I wanted to show Matt the chocolate making machine and of course get our free sample. While we were there stopped in at a little tasting room for wine tasting. Here's the view from where we were standing. You can see Alcatraz through the window
The ceremony was at the Santa Clara Mission and it was beautiful. There were probably a hundered little candles everywhere which was a really beautiful touch. The church itself was so ornate with all of its paintings and architecture it was a gorgeous and romantic setting for the wedding. I didn't get any photos in the church since it was discouraged by the priest.
The ceremony was at the hotel we were staying at, Hotel DeAnza. We walked by the room earlier that day and then when we came back for the reception it was totally transformed. If you know Katy you know that every little aspect was absolutely perfect and thought out.
